Frequently Asked Questions
NEW TO THE BODY METHOD
How do I get started?
It’s my fist time?
If it is your first time to class we ask that you arrive 10 minutes early, this gives the instructor time to show you around, assist you in familiarising yourself with the equipment, answer questions and discuss any concerns orissues you may be experiencing.
What do I wear?
Wear comfortable active wear that allows you to move freely. No socks or shoes necessary. Avoid wearing jewellery and strong smelling scents.
Do I need to book in for a class?
PREGNANCY PRE AND POST NATAL
Can I attend classes if I am pregnant?
Absolutely, we encourage it! However it is recommended that if you weren’t exercising pre-pregnancy that you be careful and avoid overdoing exercise while you are pregnant. We strongly suggest coming into a private or semi-private class first, especially if you are new to our studio. During pregnancy your instructor will modify the class to assist in the stage of your pregnancy.
I have had my baby, when can I move again?
The recommended time frame is at least 6 weeks post partum. We will require clearance from your GP that it is safe to proceed with movement and if any/ how much abdominal separation has occurred or any other complications that may have presented during pregnancy.
How many times a week should I attend Yoga/Pilates?
We suggest 3 times a week, this allows the body recovery time in between sessions, this recommendation may vary depending on your individual goals.
We suggest mixing it up by adding in additional classes like yin yoga, meditation and our Stretch, Roll and Release. This combined will have you feeling stronger and calmer from the inside out.
What is your cancellation policy?
At The Body Method we do require that you cancel your class at least 12hrs prior to class, if you cancel within the 12hr time frame a cancellation fee of the cost of your session will be deducted from your account, if you are on an untimed direct debit option, you will be debited a $15 late cancellation fee. You can find our full list of terms and conditions here.
What happens if I turn up late?
We know life happens. If you can get yourself on the mat or reformer 5 mins maximum once the class has commenced, we would love to still see you there. If you are running later than this or the door has already closed, please be respectful to both the teacher and others clients by meeting us in class another time.
